Amritsar resident booked for rape

The Nakodar Sadar police have booked a youth and his woman relative on the charge of rape and criminal conspiracy. Investigating officer (IO) Amandeep Kaur said the accused were identified as Prince Singh, a resident of Sultanwind Road Chungi, Street No.18 Amritsar, and Parmindar Kaur, a resident of Sultanwind Road Chungi, Street No. 6, Amritsar. The victim complained to the police that the accused contacted her on social media in 2022 and promised to marry her.

The victim said the accused raped her repeatedly and impregnated her. The complainant said later, the accused refused to marry her on the advice of his father's sister and threatened her of dire consequences. The IO said a case under Sections 69 (sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means etc), 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) and 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS had been registered against the accused.
