Animated film ‘Jai Bheem’ set for release tomorrow
Jalandhar, April 12
Based on the life of Dr BR Ambedkar, an animated movie ‘Jai Bheem’ produced by Pritam Film Productions and directed by Jalandhar-based Jassi Channa is all set for release on Ambedkar jayanti on April 14.
Sharing details of the release, Chana said the film would portray the key events, struggle and mission in the life of the iconic figure. “Since he still has a massive following in India and abroad who are emotionally attached with him, he wanted to bring out the movie for them. I just hope that the film comes up to their expectations,” he said.
Chana said he has moved an application to the state government seeking waiver of entertainment tax on the movie in Punjab and its support so that the students from school and colleges are taken out to watch this educational movie. He said he had also made a fervent appeal to CM Bhagwant Mann to promote the film industry in Punjab, which will eventually help in increasing job avenues in the sector.
Chana was accompanied by researcher and advisor of film Dr SL Virdi, script and screenplay writer Satnam Chana, music director Param Aagaz, campaign manager Dr Harinderpal Singh Bhogpur and legal advisor Arvind Sharda.
Showing its promo, Chana said in the first phase of release, the movie will come up only in Punjab, Haryana and Jammu on April 14. The second phase of release will be on April 22 and the movie will be screened in New Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The third phase release will take place on April 29 at Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and some foreign countries.
Chana said while he was directing the movie, several discussions were held wherein it was decided that the film would be dubbed in regional languages for being screened in other states and accordingly he planned the phase-wise release.
