Anti-drug drive gains pace in 11 villages
In a determined push towards a drug-free Punjab, residents of 11 villages across Kapurthala district took a collective pledge to intensify efforts against substance abuse under the ongoing state-wide Nasha Mukt Bharat Yatra (Drug-Free Punjab Campaign), launched by the government.
Public gatherings were held in villages Chak, Sandhu Chattha and Sunnarwala in Kapurthala constituency; Gudani, Sangowal and Sangrai in Bholath constituency; Bishanpur and Fatehgarh in Phagwara constituency, and Pamma, Shalapur Bet and Talwandi Chaudhrian in Sultanpur Lodhi constituency.
A large number of residents attended the events, pledging not only to stay away from drugs but also to work actively within their communities to eradicate the menace.
Addressing gatherings in Chak, Sandhu Chattha, and Sunnarwala, District Planning Board Chairman Lalit Saklani said the goal is to turn the anti-drug initiative into a mass movement. “The fight against drugs can only be won with the collective support of the people,” he asserted.
