Apeejay College of Fine Arts continued to make a mark for the 25th consecutive year in the three-day Zonal Youth Festival that concluded on Monday at Guru Nanak Dev University.

The college had participated in a total 35 events and won the top three prizes in different items. It scored 147 marks and owned the festival trophy and again created history while maintaining its legacy.

The college bagged the covetous first prize in 18 events - kawishri, mime, skit, one act play, costume parade, classical vocal, classical instrumental (percussion), rangoli, clay modeling, debate (English and Hindi), collage-making, group song, group shabad/ bhajan, classical dance, western vocal (solo & group), western instrumental solo.

The college bagged the second prize in 10 events - choreography, vaar singing, general dance, painting on the spot, mimicry, elocution (English & Punjabi), phulkari, geet/ghazal and poster making and third prize in gidha, bhangra, folk song and folk orchestra.

Apeejay College secured an impressive 147 marks, leading by a remarkable margin of 32 marks over the runner-up team. Dr Neerja Dhingra (Principal, ACFA) expressed her ecstasy over this win and was extremely happy with results. She congratulated the winners and their mentors who had been working tirelessly day and night for months in order to put their best foot forward on stage.

Dr Dhingra especially acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of Dr Amita Mishra (Dean, Youth Festival), Dr Arun Mishra (College’s cultural adviser) and various other teacher in charges of the respective events in which the students had participated. Furthermore, she says that it is a momentous occasion for the college as Apeejay has been winning the overall championship trophy for the last 25 years.
