Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, hosted its annual function, Aashayein: Celebrating India, on December 13, where tiny performers from Pre-Primary (Nursery, LKG, UKG, Class 1 and Class 2) enthralled the audience with vibrant performances.
In keeping with the theme, the children highlighted the culture, cuisine, dances, music, religion, and traditions of various Indian states. The program opened with a Ganapati invocation and Shiva worship. Nursery students presented a mesmerising welcome song to greet the guests, while UKG students performed a lively dance on Incredible India, sharing facts about the specialties of different states—including food, dance, songs, and religious traditions.
Class 1 and 2 students presented a play on the national flag, explaining the significance of its three colors and the respect it commands. In Achievement Saga, the children highlighted India’s milestones, including nuclear energy and the Chandrayaan mission. Class 2 students energized the audience with a lively Bhangra dance, while Class 1 and 2 students sang a spirited devotional song. Students with perfect attendance were also awarded prizes.
The Chief Guest, Dr Mandeep Kaur, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, lauded the performances and encouraged students to contribute to India’s growth rather than moving abroad, noting the nation’s achievements across various fields.
