Addressing a gathering, Kapurthala District Mahila Congress president Sangeeta Dhir condemned Bittu’s statement. She reminded Bittu that it was none other than Rahul who played a pivotal role in his election as an MP three times, a fact he seemed to have forgotten.

Dhir further criticised Bittu for disrespecting the dignity of his ministerial position by making such comments. She said he should issue an immediate apology for his “deplorable” statement, adding that Congress workers were angered by his remarks. The rally was attended by various Congress leaders, including Phagwara city president Ranjit Kaur Rani, rural president Dalbir Kaur, Meenakshi Verma and others, along with members such as Gurjeet Pal Walia, Gurdeep Garewal, Amarjit Basuta and Ravi Palahi.
