In a bid to ensure safe and secure transportation for children under the Safe School Vahan Scheme, Assistant Transport Officer (ATO) Kamlesh Kumari has initiated a series of meetings with school managements to ensure proper implementation of the policy. A meeting in this regard was held today at IVY World School, Jalandhar.

During the meeting, ATO Kamlesh Kumari emphasised that all documents related to school transport buses—including the Registration Certificate (RC), Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate, insurance, permit, vehicle fitness certificate—as well as the driving license, fitness certificate and medical test reports of both the driver and conductor, must always be kept with the vehicle driver at all times. She underlined that these measures are critical for ensuring the safety of children travelling in school buses.

The ATO further directed school authorities to regularly collect feedback from parents to assess their satisfaction with the safety measures and services provided in school transportation. She clearly stated that any deficiencies found during inspections would result in the school management being held accountable under the policy.
