Delhi Public School
Jalandhar: Delhi Public School conducted an awareness session on cyber safety titled ‘Cyber Surakshit’. The event, led by renowned cyber security expert Dr Rakshit Tandon, aimed at informing both students and parents on the crucial measures needed to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.
Dr Tandon shared insights into the potential risks of cyberbullying, hacking and cyber-stalking. He encouraged students to remain vigilant, educate themselves and adopt proactive measures to protect their personal information.
Innocent Hearts School
Students from Innocent Hearts School, Noorpur, secured the second position in the Sahodaya Inter-School Bhangra Competition 2024-2025. The competition was held at Bawa Lalvani Public School, Kapurthala, wherein 26 teams from across the region competed, and the school emerged victorious with the second place trophy. This achievement was a reward for the dedication of the students and guidance of Bhangra coach Kamaldeep, said Meenakshi Sharma, director.
Lyallpur Khalsa College
The new academic session (2024-25) commenced at Lyallpur Khalsa College with recitation of Sri Sukhmani Sahib and kirtan by Ragi Jatha led by Bhai Gurtej Singh, an alumnus of the college. The programme was attended by the governing council, principal, staff members and students of the college. Principal Dr Jaspal Singh reiterated the commitment of the college to impart quality education and overall development of its students. He expressed his hope that the coordination between students and staff of the college would continue to bring laurels in the coming years.
Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya
Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya (HMV) signed an MoU with Rozgar Map to open a training centre on the college premises. Principal Ajay Sareen welcomed the CEO of Rozgar Map, Sanjeev Sarpal, with a planter. Principal Dr Sareen told that skilled courses like digital marketing, website development, data entry and personality development would be introduced in the curriculum. She told that Rozgar Map had tied-up with more than 300 companies, so it would be easier for the students to get jobs.
Seth Hukam Chand SD School
Students and teachers of Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Senior Secondary School participated in Mission Hariyali, an event initiated by Apna Punjab Foundation and Federation of Private Schools and Association of Punjab (FAP). The students of classes I to XII planted saplings and got e-certificates. The teachers also planted sapling of fruit trees on the campus. There was great enthusiasm among staff and students for adding to the world record of planting 8 lakh saplings under Mission Hariyali.
DAVIET
DAVIET organised its student induction programme, with guidance from L&T, aimed at preparing students for the college life. The event featured Devdutt Sarma, Joint General Manager, HR, L&T, and Dr Akash Talwariya and Arvind Ghai. It began with a yajna to seek blessings of the Almighty. Dr Kanchan K Singh, head, Applied Sciences, welcomed attendees and emphasised on the programme’s role in facilitating the transition for new students.
