Baisakhi at Innocent Hearts School in Jalandhar

Jalandhar: Baisakhi was celebrated with great pomp in the five branches of Innocent Hearts School and Innocent Hearts College of Education. A special assembly was organised on this occasion, in which the students were told about the historical importance of the Baisakhi festival, while highlighting the Punjabi culture. The children came dressed as gabru-mutiyar under the theme ‘Proud to be Punjabi’. They mesmerised everyone by presenting the folk dances of giddha and bhangra. Under this, various competitions like pakhi making, and pakhi decoration Punjabi poetry recitation were organised for the children. In all the classes, the children were asked to write a paragraph on the festival of Baisakhi. At Innocent Hearts College of Education, educators Vaishali Arora and Sakshi Thakur performed bhangra.

EMM AAR International, Adampur

Baisakhi was celebrated in EMM AAR International School, Adampur, under the supervision of Principal Navdeep Vashista. Students celebrated the occasion with various dances, and poems, by wearing colorful attires. Nursery wing students presented a special performance for all the students present in the assembly. To grace the occasion, school Chairman, Dr Sarav Mohan Tandon were present, and he greeted the groups staff and students on the auspicious occasion and wished them with joy and prosperity.

Orientation programme conducted

An orientation programme to gear up students for the upcoming Guru Nanak Dev University exams was conducted at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. The programme began with Sarasvati Vandana to invoke the blessings of the Lord. The thought of the day was presented by Simran Bawa, of BA Semester 4th to begin the day on positive note. Dr Sunit Kaur, HoD, English, shared about the cultural achievements and practices of the college. Addressing the students, Principal Dr Neerja Dhingra asked students to prepare for the upcoming University exams properly. She added the way college have outshone in cultural activities, they should excel in academics too.

96th Foundation Day celebrated

Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya has grandly started proceeding towards 100 years of its existence, celebrated its 96th Foundation Day. The week long celebrations culminated with a major event in the presence of chief guest Raman Arora, MLA, Jalandhar Central, Guests of Honour YK Sud, Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Surendra Seth, Dwarka Nath Sharma, Principal Rakesh Kumar, Officiating Principal Salil Uppal, Dr Sushma Chawla, Dr Pawan Gupta and other local committee members. The elated host Principal Dr Ajay Sareen accorded green welcome and presented paintings and phulkari to Raman Arora and guests of the day. She announced the inauguration of Research and Development Cell, three short-term courses along with Start Up by Department of Cosmetology and installation of 100 bird houses named Aab-o-Dana.

Badge Giving Ceremony

Under the guidance of management and Principal Dr Ravi Suta, CJS Public School organised its badge giving ceremony. The solemn ceremony commenced on an auspicious note by invoking the blessings of the invincible Almighty, followed by presentation of badges to the deserving staff members. Following teachers got the precious opportunity to receive badges from Dr Suta. The teachers got the following designations: Archana — PA to Principal, Sapna —Academic Coordinator for classes lX-Xll, Navdeep — Academic Coordinator for classes Vl-Vlll, Rachna — Academic Coordinator for Classes lll-V, Shaila — Academic Coordinator for classes Pre-Nursery to ll and Sonia — examination incharge.

APEEJAY SPARK 2022 held

An inter-college event ‘APEEJAY SPARK 2022’was organised at Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus. More than 1000 students from 30 colleges across Punjab exhibited their communication, managerial and technical skills in various fine arts, literary and IT competitions were organised during the event. Students vied for top positions in as many as 22 different competitions. The ceremonial lamp was lit by Director Dr Rajesh Bagga. Events like nukkad natak depicted very sensitive social issues like ‘Deteriorating Moral Values in youth’ and ‘Girl Education’ which were highly appreciated by the judges. Managerial and Analytical skills were highlighted through events like Ad-Mad Show and Business Plan. The fest ended with scintillating group dance performance.

Farewell party organised

Jashn-e-Rukast party was organised on the departure of 12th students at DIPS School, Jalandhar. Various fun games like fusical games, lemon race, dance, blind eye etc. were organised by the junior students for their seniors in the party. After the games the students of Class XII, through speech told about the moments spent with their teachers and friends in the school. He thanked the teachers for always showing the right path and motivating them to move forward in life. A fashion show was organised for the students.

Extension Lecture organised

To mark the celebrations of Baisakhi, an extension lecture was organised in context of the festival at Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women. The keynote speaker for the occasion was Surinder Saini, a UNICEF observer, social activist and Secretary, Jalandhar Welfare Society. In his address, he touched the various aspects of the festival and the incidents which relates to it. He explained about the formation of the Khalsa Panth. He also touched the sensitive issue of brain drain and said we must lead a truthful and hard working life in order to averse the issue.
