They are neighbourers at Mota Singh Nagar and have been schoolmates. Now while Shaivya is doing BCom, Lavanya is pursuing Bachelor in Interior Designing. But both think alike and pair up well whenever they plan up something.

This time, they had charity work in mind. While everyone is doing something to provide relief to Covid-affected families amid the ongoing pandemic, both chose the Mothers’ Day to start a new project. Since Shaivya is a good baker and Lavanya has good marketing skills, both have planned to ‘bake tomorrow for charity’.

“Our collections will be for our friends’ NGO ‘We Can’. We intend to help families of rickshaw pullers and daily wagers as their livelihood have been badly affected due to Covid,” said the duo. Both said they had floated a message on social media from where they got a good response. “Since we cannot handle so many orders a day, we had to stop after taking 45 orders,” said Lavanya.

She said, “Though Shaivya will be handling the baking part, I will certainly help her out in addition to doing packaging and delivery jobs. We have tied up with Swiggy for the delivery. There, of course, are some pick-up orders too.”

The girls are preparing cupcakes, cake jars and brownies in vanilla, chocolate, butterscotch, coffee and red velvet flavours, all priced reasonably in the range of Rs160 to Rs400. Shaivya beams, “If it works out well, we may try it doing often”.
