It feels fulfilling. Education has always been close to my heart. Completing my MD in Radio Diagnosis was a way to understand healthcare issues more deeply so that I can serve people better.

How did you manage to balance your political duties with such a demanding academic programme?

It was definitely challenging. There were times when I had to travel for Assembly sessions and return to studies late at night. But I believe that everything is possible with discipline, time management and right motivation. I am thankful to my mentors, colleagues and supporters, who stood by me during this journey.

What inspired you to continue your studies while being active in politics?

I strongly believe that learning never stops. Education is a continuous process. It empowers us to serve the society better and make informed decisions. As a policymaker, I wanted to bring medical knowledge into governance, especially in areas like public and rural healthcare.

How has this achievement been received by your peers and the public?

The response has been very encouraging. Many people, especially young students, have told me they feel motivated to continue their education no matter how busy they are. That makes me really happy.

What message would you like to give to students and young professionals?

Never stop learning. Whether you are in politics, medicine or any other field, education gives you the strength to grow and make a difference. Hard work and perseverance always pay off.

His father Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal, who is a Member of the Lok Sabha, congratulated him, saying, “This milestone highlights Dr Ishank’s commitment to pursue excellence in both professional and public life.”
