Round Glass Hockey Academy Mohali became the champion in the 19th Sardar Balwant Singh Kapur Memorial Hockey Tournament Under-19 Boys, defeated Surjeet Hockey Academy 6-5 in the shootout in the final match played on Sunday.

On this occasion, Lt General Ajay Chandpuriya AVSM, VSM General Officer Commanding Vajra Kop arrived as the chief guest. He honoured the players and praised the society and said that under Hockey India a better tournament is being provided to the players. Players of both the teams gave their best performance to win. In the final match, Round Glass Hockey Academy Mohali defeated Surjit Hockey Academy Jalandhar 6-5. Whereas till the end of the match there were 3-3 goals between both the teams. After which Round Glass won the match 6-5 in the shootout.

Earlier, for the third position, Odisha Naval Tata High Performance Center Bhubaneswar won the third position by defeating Naval Tata Hockey Academy Jamshedpur 4-3. Player of the match was Rayavarapu Ganesh of Odisha team.

The winning Round Glass Hockey Academy Mohali team was honoured with the championship trophy and a cash award and trophy of Rs 1.50 lakh. While the second position team of Surjeet Hockey Academy, Jalandhar was honoured with a trophy and a cash award of Rs 1 lakh, the third position Odisha Naval Tata High Performance Center Bhubaneswar was honored with a trophy and Rs 80 thousand cash award, the fourth position team Naval Tata Hockey Academy Jamshedpur was honoured with a cash award of Rs 60 thousand. Best players of the championship were honoured with a cash award of Rs 10,000 each.
