District Magistrate Ashika Jain has issued orders imposing a complete ban on flying drones within the limits of Hoshiarpur district.

This order has been issued keeping in view the prevailing situation and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, will be responsible for implementing this order. This order will not be applicable to law enforcement agencies such as the police, paramilitary, air force and other security agencies.

As per orders received from the Ministry of Aviation, ‘mock drills’ are being conducted under the Civil Defence Act 1968 in various districts of Punjab to deal with any kind of emergency situation. It has been brought to the notice that attacks can also be carried out through drones and the flying of drones by the public can create an atmosphere of fear among the public, which raises the possibility of deterioration of the law and order situation. This order will remain in force until further orders.
