Former Congress MLA Pawan Adia, who was present on the occasion, welcomed everyone into the party fold, while praising their decision as a step that would lead to betterment of Punjab and Punjabis.

Addressing all those present on the occasion, Adia said those who joined the Congress, include councillors Baljinder Kaur, Daljit Kaur, Mangat Ram, Vijay Kumar and Daljit Rai, besides former councillors Sohan Singh Sheru, Randhir Singh Flora and Mehtab Singh and other AAP activists.

Councillors and others, who joined the Congress, said they worked for the AAP day and night at the grassroots level to make a place for the party in hearts of the people. Since the formation of the AAP government in Punjab, their area was neglected when it came to development, they said. “We do not have answers to questions of the people,” they said, while alleging that not even a single promise had been fulfilled by the AAP.

Adia said, “The truth of AAP has been revealed. The public is feeling cheated by handing over power to the party. All promises made by the AAP with voters turned out to be false. Councillors and panchayat members have not been able to fulfil expectations of the public.”

Adia appealed to the people to support the Congress for the sake of Punjab. He said people should give a befitting reply to the AAP’s dictatorship and breach of trust, which they had posed in the party, by forming the Congress government in the state.
