Blind murder case cracked within 24 hours, two held
The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has solved a blind murder case within 24 hours of the crime being reported. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Sikh youth.
According to ADCP-2 Aditya, police officers from Bhargo Camp discovered the body of a Sikh man alongside a motorcycle (PB08-FF-6344) near Durga Shakti Mandir in Deol Nagar. On arriving at the scene, they were initially unable to identify the deceased or gather information about him.
The body was transported to the Civil Hospital, Jalandhar, for investigation. The police were later able to trace the deceased’s family through the motorcycle’s registration. The victim was identified as the brother of Gagandeep Kaur, a resident of Dr Colony, Basti Sheikh.
Kaur suspected a foul play and believed her brother had been murdered and his body abandoned. Acting on this suspicion, an FIR was registered at Bhargo Camp.
“Through swift and meticulous investigation, the police identified the accused as Suraj Kumar, a resident of Bhargo Camp, and Gaurav Kumar, alias Gora, from Tahli Wala Chowk, Bhargo Camp. Both suspects were arrested within 24 hours of the crime”, police officials said, adding that further investigations in the case were under way.
They said though the reason behind the murder was yet not known, an old enmity was suspected, which would be clear during investigation.
