Panic gripped Gadaipur here this morning after a body of a middle-aged man was found floating in a canal at Focal Point. Passersby first spotted the body and alerted the police control room about it.

As per information, the body came floating from the Ballan village side to Gadaipur, where it got stuck in a wooden bridge. After the passersby spotted the body, two of the youths jumped into the canal, thinking the man might be alive and could be saved, and brought the body out, however, he was dead.

Deepu, one of the witnesses, said he saw the body around 12 noon. The deceased was wearing a light-colored T-shirt and black lower. Also, a rope was tied around the waist of the body.
