Several Bollywood stars were in the city to attend the last rites of Pimmi Khosla, a Kapurthala-based socialite and the mother of fashion designer Sandeep Khosla, at Hotel Radisson here this afternoon.

Among those who came to express their condolences to the family were Jaya Bachchan and her daughter Shweta Bachhan, Amrita Singh and Dimple Kapadia and her younger daughter Rinke Khanna. Sandeep Khosla and Abu Jani attended to all guests at the hotel as tributes were being paid to the departed soul.

Dimple Kapadia and Jaya Bachchan are learnt to be among the first big clients of Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla label, which is now about 38 years old. Gautam Kapoor and Divya Kapoor Sardana, MD of the hotel, said that all required arrangements for the stars attending the event had been made to complete perfection.

BM Gupta, a veteran architect of Kapurthala, expressed condolences to the family. He said that the city’s oldies still remember Pimmi Khosla for the social work she was engaged in. “Her husband DP Khosla had a leather and garment business. The family was also well-connected with the royal princes of Kapurthala,” he shared.
