The accused have been identified as Vajir Singh, Lakhbir Singh, Jasvir Singh, Amir Singh, Gurmej Singh, Phuman Singh, Puran Singh, Jaswant Singh, Balwinder Singh and Palwindar Singh, residents of Butte Dian Chhana village. Balwant Singh, a resident of the village, had complained to the police that the accused had encroached on his land, assaulted and threatened him. A case was registered against the accused and their other accomplices, including women. oc

Phagwara: The Shahkot police have arrested six villagers, including two women, on the charge of assaulting a woman. The accused have been identified as Gurmukh Singh of Reharwan village, his wife Bindar Kaur, his brother Gurmail Singh, his son Rajindar Singh, his nephew Narindar Singh and Lovepreet Kaur of the same village. Binder (55) of the same village had complained to the police that the accused barged into her house on November 18 in 2024 and attacked her and family members with weapons and seriously injured them, adding that a land dispute was the reason behind the attack.oc

Phagwara: The Nurmahal police have booked two miscreants on the charge of assaulting a Nurmahal resident. The accused has been identified as Gurpreet Singh of Fatehpur village and Gagan. Balwindar Kumar, a resident of Model Town, Nurmahal, complained to the police that the accused attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon on July 14, injuring him seriously. oc

Phagwara: The Shahkot police have arrested a villager on the charge of attacking a police officer. The accused has been identified as Pawan Kumar, a resident of Meinwal Arian village. An assistant sub-inspector and in charge of the Malaysian police post Buta Ram said in his statement that the accused assaulted him and his colleagues, tore his uniform and used abusive and filthy language against them. A case had been registered against the accused. oc

Phagwara: The Nakodar police have arrested a Mehatpur villager on the charge of kidnapping a minor girl. The accused has been identified as Sunni Kumaruta Ram, a resident of Bara Salam village. The father of the victim, a resident of Shankar village, had complained to the police that the accused had kidnapped his minor daughter. oc

Phagwara: The Mehatpur police have arrested two on the charge of selling intoxicating tablets. As many as 20 and 15 intoxicant tablets were recovered from the possession of the accused. Cases under the NDPS Act have been registered against the accused. oc
