Phagwara: The Bilga police have arrested two 'drug peddlers'. As much as 25 gram of heroin was seized from the possession of the accused Surindar Pal and Mapreet Singh, both residents of Sangowal village. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused. The Nakodar police have arrested woman 'drug peddler' Puja of Thablke village with 5 gram heroin. The Lohian Khas police arrested drug peddler Gurcharan Singh of Mianni village with 15 tablets. oc

Fake travel agent booked

Phagwara: On a complaint registered by Tersem Lal of village Dosanjh Kalan, the police have registered a case against Surinder Kumar of Kamboj mohalla, Phagwara, on the charge of duping the complainant of Rs 3.50 lakh in the pretext of sending him abroad.The victim told the police that neither the accused could send him abroad, nor returned the money. The police are investigating the matter. No arrest has been made so far. oc

Phagwara: The police have booked a miscreant on charge of snatching cash and gold rings. Varinder Kumar complained to the police that he was going to purchase vegetables on June 1 morning when an unidentified motorcyclist waylaid him near a bakery shop and snatched golden rings from his hands and Rs 6,000 at the gun-point. A case has been registered against the accused. oc

'Drug peddler' arrested

Phagwara: The Phagwara police have arrested a drug smuggler and seized 10 gm of heroin from his possession on Tuesday. The accused, identified as Rahul Kumar, resident of Santokhpura in Phagwara was apprehended at a check point near village Miherru. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused. oc

Phagwara: The Nurmahal police have arrested a villager on the charge of selling illicit liquor. As many as 30 bottles of hooch were seized from the possession of the accused Gurjit Singh of Shamshabad village. A case under the Punjab Excise Act has been registered against the accused. oc

Man held with illegal firearms

Phagwara: The Shahkot police have arrested a villager with illegal firearms. The accused has been identified as Prabhprit Singh of Billi Chao village under Nakodar. The accused was intercepted at the Jalandhar-Moga highway near Shahkot and recovered from his car a countrymade pistol and a cartridge. oc

Phagwara: The Lohian Khas police have arrested a woman on the charge of selling illicit liquor. As many as 15 bottles of hooch were seized from the possession of Amanpreet Kaur of Hairan village. oc
