Phagwara: Six miscreants attacked a motorcyclist and snatched his bike at gun point near village Miherru on Tuesday night. The victim Simranjit Singh of village Hardofarala along with his cousin pillion rider Gursharan Singh was going somewhere when the miscreants stopped, beat them up mercilessly and snatched his bike and fled. Hurt in mishap, youth dies
Hoshiarpur: A young man, injured in a road accident on the Hoshiarpur-Phagwara road, died. Bane Singh Nagar told the police that he was a resident of Rajgarh district of MP. His son Mandeep Singh Nagar was going to Hoshiarpur on a bike on January 4 for work. When he reached near Davida Ahirna, a scooter hit him there. According to him, his son injured in the accident and was admitted to a government hospital from where he was referred to a private hospital where his son died. The police have registered a case against accused scooterist Surjit Singh, a resident of Khanoda. oc
6 booked, one held for firing
Hoshiarpur: The police have booked six accused and arrested one of them on the charge of entering a house and firing due to an old enmity. Nirpal Kaur of village Kukar Mazara told the police that due to an old enmity, Amandeep Singh, Chiniya, Harpreet Singh Jaswinder Singh, Amrik Singh, besides Pradeep Singh and Mandeep, residents of Saroya, entered her house and fired gun shots with the intention of murdering her on January 13. Meeting resolves 65 pension cases
Jalandhar: A meeting addressing pension cases of employees retired from PSPCL and PSTCL was held on Wednesday in the conference hall of the Chief Engineer/DS office, North Zone, Shakti Sadan here. A total of 65 pension cases were resolved on the spot during the meeting. Additionally, the pension cases of around 150 employees who are set to retire from these offices by June 30 are individually reviewed to ensure timely processing of their pensionary benefits. tns
