Phagwara: The Shahkot police have arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) absconding for the last two years. The accused has been identified as Nishan Singh, a resident of Talwandi Butian village, wanted in a case of drug peddling registered in 1997 and was declared PO in 2023. oc

Phagwara: The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a women 'drug peddler' on the charge of selling intoxicant tablets. As many as 68 tablets were recovered from the possession of the accused Bhira of Sailkianna village under Phillaur. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused. The Nurmahal police arrested drug peddler Charanjit Kumar of Kot Badal Khan village. oc
Three booked for assault
Phagwara: The police have booked three villagers for assaulting a co-villager. The accused have been identified as Harwinder Pal Singh, alias Hindu, Harwindar Singh, alias Babla, and Tirath Singh of Talwandi Madho. Kamaljit Singh of the village complained to the police that the accused assaulted and seriously injured him on March 11 and threatened him with dire consequences. A case has been registered.
