Phagwara: The Kapurthala police detained Sumit Singh for allegedly manufacturing and selling duplicate Tata brand salt under the banner of SS Traders near Aujla Phatak. The case came to light following a complaint by Hardip Kumar, an employee of Tata Salt company, who alleged that the suspect was producing counterfeit salt and circulating it in the market, misleading consumers and damaging the original brand's integrity. Minor girl abducted

Phagwara: The police have booked a migrant Parmod on the charge of abducting the 15-year-old girl on the pretext of marrying her. Kesar Nath of Gilco Green Co, Phagwara, told the police that he was away for work on December 5 while his wife had gone out to purchase groceries, leaving their three children at home. He claimed that around 2 pm, his daughter had gone to purchase milk from a nearby shop and did not return home. The family discovered that Pramod, who was known to the minor, had allegedly abducted her by misleading her with a promise of marriage. oc
