Phagwara: A major theft has been reported at Pro Brick Space Pvt Ltd, located on the Lovely University campus after two women allegedly broke into the store and escaped with a large quantity of electrical and copper material. The incident surfaced on Tuesday when senior officer Aasit Sood reached the store and found the window grill broken. On checking the stock, several items were found missing, including 26 rolls of PVC insulated red wire, 61 rolls of black and red PVC insulated wire, one roll of yellow wire, three rolls of copper SWG wire, etc. oc
Woman booked for cheating
Phagwara: The Nakodar police have booked a woman on the charges of cheating and breach of trust. The accused has been identified as Kuljit Kaur of Kandola Kalan village under Nurmahal police station. Jaswindar Kaur of Kang Sahibu village had complained to Jalandhar (rural) SSP that she had registered a sale deed of her land at Kang Sahibu village in the name of the accused and her sister-in-law Kuljit Kaur in 2022 but no amount of sale consideration of Rs 21 lakh was ever paid to her. The DSP had inquired into the complaint and sent his report to the SSP who ordered registered of a case. oc
Two booked for burning stubble
Phagwara: The Nurmahal police have booked a farmer on the charge of burning paddy stubble. The accused has been identified as Parmindar Singh of Rampur village. The patwari has sent his report to the police which was verified and examined at the place of occurrence. The accused had set afire stubble and violated government order. The Lohian Khas police also booked farmer Sarwan of Mandala village for burning stubble. oc
Two drug peddlers held
Phagwara: The Nakodar police have arrested two 'drug peddlers' on the charge of selling intoxicating tablets. As many as 28 tablets were recovered from the possession of the accused, identified as Aditya and Jasbir Lal, alias Rohit, of Beer Pind village. The Nakodar police arrested a 'drug peddler' Ranjit of Rayeewal Dona village in Shahkot with 42 tablets. oc
