Phagwara: A case of burglary has been registered after unidentified miscreants allegedly broke into the Sukhchain Nagar residence of Ashish Dev on late Thursday night. According to the complaint, Dev's wife Sucheta Ashish Dev, who serves as an Additional Sessions Judge in Patiala, was staying at the government quarters in Patiala with their children at the time of the incident. The matter came to light when a local resident Nirmal Singh called the complainant that the lock of his house had been broken. Upon inspection, household items were found scattered. Stolen property reportedly includes a laptop, pen drives, hard disks, and other valuables. The police have registered a case. oc

Wife booked for breach of trust

Phagwara: On a complaint lodged by Hadiabad resident Varun Sandhir, the police have registere a case of criminal breach of trust against his wife Tripta Sharma following allegations of misappropriation of gold and cash entrusted for safekeeping. The complainant alleged that gold ornaments along with ?2.5 lakh were given to the accused to be kept securely at her residence situated near Gurdwara Singh Sabha. However, the complainant claimed that the valuables were taken without consent and not returned, amounting to breach of trust. oc
