Phagwara: The Nakodar police have booked a person for stealing a motorcycle and mobile phones. Amarjit Singh of Sahem village complained to the police that a thief barged into his house on March 23 night and stole a motorcycle and phone sets from a shed of villager Jagir Singh. A case has been registered against the unidentified accused. oc

Man booked for selling liquor

Phagwara: The Shahkot police booked a villager on the charge of brewing and selling illicit liquor. As many as 209 bottles of hooch and a tub were recovered from the house of the accused Darshan Singh of Baupur village, who managed to flee from the spot. A case has been registered against the accused. oc

3 held for drug peddling

Phagwara: The Bilga police have arrested two 'drug peddlers' on the charge of selling intoxicated tablets. As many as 78 tablets were recovered from the possession of the accused Des Raj and Kamaljit Kumar of Mao Sahib village. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused. The police have also arrested a 'drug peddler' Parmindar Singh of Kang Kalan village with 305 tablets. oc

Phagwara: The Shahkot police have arrested a miscreant with illegal firearm. The accused has been identified as Harmanpreet Singh, alias Happy, of Danewal village. The accused, travelling on a motorcycle, was intercepted at a naka and an illegal countrymade pistol and three cartridges 7.65 MM and .32 bore were seized from him. A case had been registered against the accused. oc

Phagwara: The Nakodar police have arrested an absconding person on the charges of snatching cash and mobile phone from women. The accused have been identified as Joban of Malrri village. A case under the BNS has been registered against the accused. oc

Couple booked for duping

Hoshiarpur: The police of Dasuya have registered a case against the couple for allegedly cheating a man of Rs 43.55 lakh on the pretext of sending them to America. Sucha Singh of village Moriya told the police that travel agent Davinder Singh of Sanghoi, district Karnal, and his wife Raman Kaur had allegedly taken amount from him, promising him of sending his son to the US. But the accused neither sent his son abroad, nor returned his money.

1 held for fake capsule sale

Hoshiarpur: The police have booked two and arrested one on the charge of selling fake capsules at the shop. Mohit Chadda of Jalandhar had complained to the police that Rajiv Sharma of Mall Road, Hoshiarpur, and Manav Pabbi of Ludhiana were selling fake capsules of his company. The police have arrested Rajiv Sharma. oc
