Brief: Scrap dealer arrested
Phagwara: The police have arrested a scrap dealer and recovered a stolen motorcycle from his possession last night. Phagwara SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti said after getting a secret information that the scrap dealer was purchasing stolen bikes and selling these, the police raided and recovered a stolen bike and arrested the accused identified as Vinod Kumar of Hadiabad (Phagwara). A case had been registered against the arrested accused, said SP Bhatti. oc
'Drugs peddler' arrested
Phagwara: The police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered five gm of heroin from his possession last night. The accused identified as Mani resident of Daddal Mohalla, Phagwara, was nabbed by a police team at a check-point near Sewa Kendra in the Baba Gadhia locality, Phagwara. A case under the NDPS Act had been registered against the peddler. oc
Woman among 3 peddlers held
Phagwara: The Lohian police have arrested a woman 'drug peddler' on the charge of selling intoxicated tablets. As many as 107 tablets (loose) were recovered from the possession of Priya of Nawan Pind Khalewal village. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused. Meanwhile, the Nakodar police have arrested two drug peddlers Ramandeep of Shankar village and Sagar of Bajuha Kalan village with 116 tablets. oc
Theft accused PO arrested
Phagwara: The police have arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) absconding for the last three years. The accused has been identified as Gurmail Singh, alias Kala, a resident of Thuthgarh village under Dharamkot police station, Moga. The accused is wanted in a case of theft registered in 2022. oc
