Phagwara: On the Raksha Bandhan festival, Sewa Kendras in the district will remain open between 11 am and 5 pm tomorrow. This was stated by Kapurthala Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal. He said all Sewa Kendras would remain open at 11 am despite the festival. OC

Two nabbed for stealing laptop
Phagwara: The police have arrested two persons on the charge of stealing a laptop and camera from a house. The accused have been identified as Arash Kumar of Mehatpur and his brother Sukhvir. Hamok, a resident of Dashmesh colony, Mehatpur, complained to the police that the accused stole a laptop and a drone from his house. A case has been registered. OC
Two booked for assault
Phagwara: The police have arrested two persons on the charge of assaulting a resident. The accused had been identified as Simratpal Singh of Green Park Colony, Mehatpur, and Jatinder Thapar of Mandiala village. Sartaj Singh of Mahatpur complained to the police that the accused barged into his house, attacked and threatened him. OC
Bike stolen from restaurant
Phagwara: A motorcycle bearing registration number PB-08EC-9519 was stolen before "Janta Ki Rasoi" near Hargobind Nagar, Phagwara, on Saturday. Suraj Kumar old the police that he went to restaurant to take lunch after parking his bike before the outlet but found his bike stolen when came out. The police have registered a case. OC
Woman’s purse stolen in market
Phagwara: Jaspreet Kaur of village Atta near Goraya told the police that her bag was stolen from the grain market. It contained a mobile phone and Rs 45,000. OC
Bodies of boy, girl recovered
Hoshiarpur: The bodies of a boy and a girl have been recovered from a forest near village Chohal on Chintpurni Road. The deceased have been identified as Sandeep Tiwari and Pooja of Jalandhar. The bodies had been sent to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem. OC
