Agent held for duping man of Rs 7 lakh

The police have arrested a travel agent Jaspal Singh of Kanganna village for duping Pawitar Singh of Main Bazar, Shahkot, of Rs 7 lakh for facilitating his brother’s migration abroad. The complainant stated to the Jalandhar (rural) SSP that the agent neither sent his brother abroad, nor returned his money. Investigating Officer Buta Ram said a case was registered against the accused in this regard.

Man held with illegal pistol

The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested Vishwa Singh, alias Vishu, of Kang Sahibu village after recovering an illegal .32 bore US-made pistol with a magazine and five live cartridges from him. Investigating officer Tirath Ram said a case under the Arms Act was registered against the accused.

Man arrested under NDPS Act

The Nurmahal police have arrested Sukhraj, alias Jassi, alias Kalu, of Kandola Kalan village, after recovering 17 intoxicating tablets from him. Investigating officer Gurnam Singh said a case under Sections 22/61/85 of the NDPS Act was registered against the accused.
