Phagwara: The brother-sister duo died on the spot when a Canter hit their bike on the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road late Friday evening. Gurpreet Singh of village Sikri, who returned from abroad, was bringing her cousin Gurpreet Kaur of Ludhiana as his marriage was fixed. The police have arrested the Canter driver.

Pilgrim dies in accident

Hoshiarpur: One pilgrim died and another got injured in an accident on the Hoshiarpur-Chintpurni road. Manish of Ravidas Nagar told the police that he was returning from Mata Chintpurni Temple with his friend Satinder Kumar of Hoshiarpur. He said as they reached the Punjab border, a Canter hit them. His friend Satinder died while he got injured. The driver fled the spot.

Youth arrested, bike recovered

Phagwara: The police have arrested a youth and recovered a stolen bike from his possession. Lovepreet Singh of village Ladhuwal near Ludhiana, was nabbed at a check point near village Bhanoki.

3 booked for assault

Phagwara: Satnampura police registered a case against three youths on the charges of attacking and injuring a person with sharp-edged weapons at his residence on Thursday night.
