According to information, the robbers broke into a locked house and decamped with valuables worth several lakhs of rupees. House owner NRI Raman Malhotra said the incident came to light when an employee, who routinely visits the house for cleaning and maintenance, found the locks and doors broken. “The total loss runs into lakhs,” he added. He has lodged a complaint with the police, following which the police assured the family that the culprits would be traced soon. Residents of Regency Town expressed concern over the increasing incidents of theft in the city. They questioned the tall claims of senior police officials, who have been assuring the public of strict vigilance during the festive season.
