Speaking at a seminar organised by the Education Department at Triple M Institute, Arora addressed heads and teachers of private schools. She said the initiative aims to shift students’ mind-sets from job-seekers to job-creators, preparing them to become self-reliant and innovative entrepreneurs.
“The Business Blaster programme plays a crucial role in developing the entrepreneurial spirit among students. By introducing this programme in private schools, we aim to reach a larger student base,” said DEO Arora.
Emphasising the importance of self-employment, she added that students should focus not only on academics but also on building business skills, which could help create employment opportunities for others in the future.
During the session, resource persons Lovjinder Singh, Amandeep Kaur, Kamaljeet Kaur, Gurnam Singh and Rinku Singh provided hands-on training to participating teachers. They explained methods to encourage innovative ideas among students and guide them in starting small-scale business projects. Practical strategies to transform these student-led ideas into viable ventures were also discussed.
The event was attended by several academicians, including Prof Manoj Kapoor and Rakesh Phool. “The Business Blaster programme will take students beyond classroom learning towards practical exposure. It will support their holistic development and prepare them to become future-ready entrepreneurs,” said one participating teacher. The Education Department plans to soon conduct training sessions for private school teachers to ensure effective implementation of the programme across the district.
