Cambridge Innovative School has kicked off the three-day XVIII CBSE North Cluster Badminton Tournament 2025, uniting young shuttlers from across the region.
The tournament’s opening ceremony was held at Hansraj Stadium on Tuesday, emphasising the values of sportsmanship, resilience, discipline and unity—core principles outlined in the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
During the event, the school highlighted the importance of CBSE tournaments in nurturing confident, well-rounded individuals by instilling qualities like teamwork, leadership, perseverance, and character development. The ceremony was attended by JK Kohli, Chairman of the Advisory Council of LWES, who served as the chief guest, and Harish Kumar, Technical Delegate for CBSE Games 2025.
A soulful performance of the song ‘Chal Chalein’ by the students of Cambridge Innovative School mesmerized the audience, conveying a message of unity and hope. In his address, chief guest J.K. Kohli encouraged the young athletes and officially declared the tournament open.
The event continued with the oath ceremony led by the Sports Captain of Cambridge Innovative School, where all participating teams pledged to uphold the principles of fairness, respect, and integrity in sports. The opening ceremony concluded with a balloon release, symbolising the soaring aspirations, dreams, and determination of the young athletes.
