DAV varsity best in Lok Nach
Jalandhar: DAV University secured the first position in Open Lok Nach – Luddi defeating the team of Chitkara University, Chandigarh, at the Punjab State Inter-Varsity Youth Festival 2024. Students of DAV University proved their mettle in the test of knowledge about Punjab as they bagged the second position in Heritage Quiz. The event was organised by the Youth Affairs Welfare Department, Punjab, at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. Seventeen government and private universities participated in the events. In the quiz competition, 10 teams faced written challenge and a questionnaire round. The team representing DAV University got the second position.
Science exhibition at Eklavya School
Jalandhar: Eklavya School organised a science exhibition to develop interest for mathematics and science among students. This year the theme was ‘Future Frontiers – A Science Showcase’. Gurmeen Kaur (Assistant Professor in Biochemistry Department at Lovely Professional University) was the chief guest of the event. Some innovative projects like sewage treatment plant, haemodialyser, calinometer, hydraulic bridge, nervous system, internal trading, e-commerce website, rain water sensor, acid rain, smart city, global warming, carbon purifier, eco bricks, irrigation system etc were the centre of attraction. Other projects like respiratory system, wind power generation, hydraulic pump, hydropower plant, ropeway, biogas plant, drone, rain water harvesting, AC generator, telescope, etc were also designed by the students.
Annual function by SD School
Kapurthala: Seth Hukam Chand SD Public School, Urban Estate, organised an annual function based on the theme ‘Ignite – the inner flame’. The event was presided over by chief guest of the day Manjeet Kaur (Olympian and Arjuna awardee) Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar; president Naresh Kumar Budhia and Principal of school Sonia Jairath. The cultural programme commenced with an invocation to the Almighty by reciting a shabad. A musical performance ‘Shri Ram Abhinandan’ by young dancers held everyone captive. A meaningful message was given to ‘Save the neglected childhood through a nukkad natak’. A few tiny tots presented their performances ‘Sway with a patriotic ardour’. An inspirational play based on Dr APJ Abdul Kalam – A vision that ignites the minds left the audience awestruck all those present.
Annual prize distribution held
Jalandhar: The annual prize distribution function of CT Public School took place under the evocative theme ‘Darpan: The Reflection of Change’. This theme celebrated transformation, adaptability and growth, showcasing the power of embracing change in a dynamic world. The event was graced by the chief guest, Gurjot Kaur, general secretary and trustee of Nari Niketan and a distinguished member of the Board of Control at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Cultural performances brought the theme to life, featuring enactments of historical progress and graceful dances.
‘Desh Ka Prakriti Pareekshan’
Jalandhar: Under the guidance of Principal Prof Ajay Sareen and in collaboration with Dayanand Ayurvedic College, resident scholars of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya participated in ‘Desh Ka Prakriti Pareekshan’ programme, an initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dr Nishu Raina from Dayanand Ayurvedic College told the students about this diagnosis in detail. She listened to their problems and gave them solutions. Principal Dr Ajay Sareen said a healthy mind resides in healthy body. The certificates of the students were also generated by participating in this diagnosis. Hostel coordinator Dr Meenu Talwar, hostel warden Jasbir, Amanpreet, Kajal and others were also present.
