Campus notes: Resume Building Session

Jalandhar: The Training and Placement Committee of School of Management of Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus organised a resume building session for students of the department. Kunal Verma, Assistant Director, Training and Placement, was the resource person. He briefed the students about the importance of a resume and also guided them about drafting a professional resume in order to increase their employability. He also differentiated between a curriculum vitae and a resume. He also discussed the dos and don’ts of making a professional resume. In the end, he concluded with the importance of LinkedIn Profile link in a resume. Dr.Inderpal Singh (Dean Research and Examination, HOD, School of Management) said that the activity helped in developing the overall personality.

Cosplay- fancy dress, talent show

Jalandhar: Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld organised an open event, Cosplay- A Fancy Dress and Talent Show. Kids and their mothers were dressed up according to the theme - Trash to Treasure. Kids did many solo dance performances, sang songs, recited poems, etc. The children did a phenomenal job at the event. They were enthusiastic about dressing up for the event and with the assistance of their parents, wearing their dresses gleefully explaining the importance of it and performing. The kids amused us with their creativity, speech, moves and boundless imagination. There were 40 entries, out of which five best performances from each group received medals. There were participating certificates and gifts for every student. Officiating Principal Priyanka Grover, Rhythms incharge Nidhi Ghai, Headmistress Primary Namrata Sharma and the teachers were also present in the event.

Umang-Innocreative Carnival’ 25

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organised Umang KMV Innocreative Carnival’ 25 with full zeal to provide a break from the academic routine. The chief guests for the inaugural ceremony was Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal, and Neerja Chander Mohan, member, KMV Managing Committee. Dr. Sushma Chopra, Secretary, KMV Managing Committee, Dr. Kamal Gupta and Dr. Deepali Luthra were also present on the occasion The college wore a colourful and festive look on this day as various number of stalls were donned up with mouth watering delicacies, various handmade articles, fun games, selfie station, dizzy rides and DJ etc. to add to the overall ambience of the day. On the spot, baby show was also organised in which many adorable babies took part and won various titles. The event concluded with a raffle draw comprising of many attractive prizes ranging from microwave, electric rice cooker etc. to various other useful articles. Vani Vij and Neha Vij were the chief guest for the raffle draw event. Principal Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that such events not only refresh and rejuvenate students but also have memorable imprints to cherish for the whole life of the students.

Annual Athletic Meet

Jalandhar: Apeejay College of Fine Arts held its Annual Athletic Meet where Padam Shri and Arjuna Awardee Pargat Singh, MLA, was present as the chief guest and Dr. Amandeep Singh, Incharge, Youth Welfare Department and Head, Department of Physical Education, GNDU, was present as guest of honour. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra received the guests and presented a bouquet to them. Competitions were held for 100 meter race, 200 meter race, 400 meter race, 4×100 Relay race and three leg race. The students also participated in shot put, long jump and tug of war. Diya Talwar bagged the title of Best Athlete (women) whereas Kunwar Armaan Singh and Ribhav Batra bagged the title of Best Athlete (men). The event ended with the energetic and dynamic Bhangra performance.

Prize Distribution held

Jalandhar: A graduation ceremony along with prize distribution was organised by State Public School, Jalandhar Cantt. The central idea behind the ceremony was to make tiny tots proud of journey they experienced in kindergarten and move to next level of schooling. Both the parents and students were excited for this day which could be seen straight away on every face. They were all adorned in academic gowns and caps aiming higher. The celebration started with a devotional dance, Hanuman Chalisa, followed by performances like, motivational dance, giddha and thanks giving action song by UKG tiny tots. Students received certificates along with trophies, honouring their success of passing to next level of education and efforts of parents. The categories for the awards were - All Rounder, Best In Academic, Super Active Kid, Best Artist, Best Dancer and so on. President Dr. Narotam Singh and Principal Savina Bahl congratulated all the students.

FAREWELL TO ALMA MATER

Phagwara: The outgoing batch of class XII of Swami Sant Dass Public School was bid a heart warming farewell in a gala event by the students of Class XI in a lively and entertaining farewell function. The students presented a colourful variety of events and were given a traditional welcome by their juniors. The function began with a light-hearted play by Class XI highlighting the key moments in a student’s life. The students presented a choreography that took students down memory lane and highlighted the importance of school life and lessons. The outgoing Class XII students gave emotional speeches expressing their gratitude and appreciation to their institution and teachers. Director Anju Mehta addressed the students and gave them important tips regarding time management and life skills. Principal Dr Sonia Mago wished the students success in their board exams and also gave important instructions for their exams.

Farewell Ceremony Held

A farewell ceremony was organised at The Nobel School for the students of Class 12, where they were given a heartfelt farewell. The chief guest of the event was Prof. C. L. Kochhar. The event was also graced by Director Saroj Sharma and Principal Ravinder Kaur. Other senior members of the school were also present to grace the evening. Amandeep, Manpreet Kaur and Gurpreet Kaur organised the event. During the ceremony, special awards were announced. Miss Charming was awarded to Navneet Kaur, Mr. Handsome to Manmeet Singh, Mr. Nobel to Jodhveer Singh, and Miss Nobel to Sehajpreet Kaur. Students expressed gratitude towards their school.

Guru Ravidas Jayanti celebrated

Jalandhar: At ‘The Gurukul’ school, Guru Ravidas Jayanti was celebrated with great joy in a special prayer meet. On this occasion, the children presented the teachings related to the life of Guru Ravidas through speeches and bhajans. School Director Sushma Handa and Principal Radha Gakhar presented the precious time teachings and inspiring thoughts of Guru Ravidas Maharaj to the children and inspired them.
