Punjab Icon Award
Jalandhar: La Blossoms School has been recognised with the prestigious Punjab Icon Award for Excellence in Education for its contributions to innovative teaching methodologies and holistic student development. The award was presented at a grand ceremony attended by distinguished educators, industry leaders and eminent personalities. Chairperson Vandana Murria expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “The award is a testament to our dedication to nurturing young minds and shaping future leaders.” The award was received by the head of administration Parvesh Kumar and educator Deepak Madan.
Workshop on National Science Day
Jalandhar: To mark the National Science Day, the Medical Science Department of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions, in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club and NSS unit, organised a workshop on “Basic Life Support” (BLS) in the Horizon Hall auditorium. The session was conducted by Dr Ayushi Singh, who provided valuable insights into essential life-saving techniques. The purpose of the workshop was to equip students with crucial medical emergency response skills and create awareness about life-saving interventions. The workshop covered vital medical emergency techniques, including how to recognise and respond to pulmonary obstruction, immediate steps to take when a person experiences cardiac arrest, and the correct procedure for performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Students were also introduced to the fundamentals of CPR techniques and the use of a defibrillation device to restore normal heart function in critical situations. Dr Ayushi Singh provided a live demonstration of CPR, emphasising the importance of quick response and proper technique in saving lives. The session was highly interactive, allowing students to engage in practical learning experiences.
Annual prize distribution function
Jalandhar: Applauds 2024-25, the annual prize distribution function of pre-primary classes was held at MGN Public School, Adarsh Nagar. Every child of Nursery, LKG and UKG class was awarded a trophy with a title, recognising their social-emotional, cognitive and inter-personal skill development. The honour titles were ‘Well Turned Out’, ‘Promising Performer’, ‘Ever-smiling’, ‘Highly Perceptive’ and ‘Best Buddy’. The exuberance on each face while receiving their award from the in-charge Sukham was iconic. Encouragement and inspirational words by Principal KS Randhawa and Headmistress Sangeeta Bhatia added sparkle to the function.
11th IOG Dr Stya Paul Awards 2024-25
The Apeejay Stya and Svran Group is going to organise the 11th Indian Obstetrics and Gynaecology (IOG) Dr Stya Paul Awards 2024-25 to recognise outstanding contributory articles published in IOG Journal for Basic and Clinical Research. A meticulous selection process comprising eminent jury members was undertaken to choose the award winners. It will be held in Delhi on March 2. Dr Stya Paul’s daughter Sushma Paul Berlia had initiated the awards. The highlight of the event this year will be an oration lecture by Dr Errico Zupi, professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Siena. He will address on the topic ‘Maximising ultrasound utility across obstetrics and gynaecology’. The presentation will focus on how ultrasound has transformed maternal and foetal health assessment, from early static imaging to real-time dynamic visualisation, Doppler ultrasound and 3D/4D imaging. Key topics include its use in pregnancy monitoring, detection of foetal anomalies, evaluation of gynaecological conditions and its role in assisted reproductive technologies.
Seminar on cosmetology
Jalandhar: The Cosmetology Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women organised a seminar on bridal makeup, featuring renowned make-up artist Akansha Kumar. During the session, she shared valuable tricks and techniques of bridal make-up with the students. She also addressed their queries, providing insights that will be highly beneficial for their professional and career growth. The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation, with over 40 students attending the session. The event proved to be an excellent learning opportunity for aspiring make-up artists, helping them enhance their skills and industry knowledge. Dr Navjot appreciated the efforts of Assistant Professor Araish Fatma.
