Students shine at moot court event

Jalandhar: The team of St Soldier Law College won the best memorial title during the national-level Panjab University Moot Court Competition organised by University Institute of Laws, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana, in which 32 teams participated. The college team won the best memento award along with a cash prize of Rs 5,100. The team included Gagandeep Singh, Rishi Singh and Harshika Gagan. This title was accomplished under the guidance of college director SC Sharma and other staff members.

Annual function Cynosalute-25 held

Cynosure International School organised its annual function ‘Cynosalute-25’ on the theme of saluting all significant relationships and all significant sections of society. The event started with a salute to religion, wherein children represented four religions — Hinduism, Sikhism, Islam and Christianity — with dance. The performers also saluted the armed forces and India. Next, the participants saluted the girl child by presenting a heart-touching performance on saving the girl child and respect for women. There was a salute for grandparents, friendships, childhood, culture and the alma mater, too.

Workshop on machine learning, AI

The PG Department of Computer Science and IT at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organised a one-day workshop on machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) under the auspices of the DBT Star College Scheme. The event, held under the leadership of Principal Ajay Sareen, aimed to provide students with a deeper understanding of cutting-edge technologies. The workshop was led by Karan Arora, founder and CEO of Itonoix Solutions and founder of Filmy Cave Productions. Arora emphasised artificial intelligence and machine learning were the future of technology and urged students to focus on these areas to stay ahead in their careers. He began the session by introducing the fundamentals of Python and C languages, highlighting their importance in the field of programming. He explained the three core components of data science — data cleaning, data analysis, and data visualisation — and demonstrated how these tasks were performed using Jupyter Notebook, providing real-life examples to ensure the students grasped the concepts effectively. He explained various machine learning techniques and how these methods were applied in different scenarios.

Workshop on creative thinking

Mayor World School organised a two-day CBSE workshop for educators, centred on critical and creative thinking. The workshop aimed to enhance the innovative and analytical capabilities of educators, equipping them with tools to foster these essential skills in students. The event witnessed the participation of speakers Harneet Singh from Podar International School, Ludhiana, and Sandhya Dewan from Cambridge International School, Nakodar. Harneet captivated the audience with his insights on how to stimulate students’ creativity through engaging and interactive classroom activities. His session emphasised the importance of fostering an environment where students felt free to express themselves and think beyond the confines. Dewan shared her extensive experience in nurturing critical thinking skills among students.
