Jalandhar: In the District Badminton Championship, Aaina Chopra, a student of St. Soldier Divine Public School, won the gold medal in the U-11 girls' doubles. The competition was held at Raizada Hansraj Badminton Stadium. Group Chairman Anil Chopra and Vice Chairperson Sangeeta Chopra appreciated her and wished her a bright future.
SLOGAN WRITING COMPETITION
An Inter-School Sahodaya Slogan Writing Competition was conducted in Swami Sant Dass Public School, Phagwara. About 45 schools participated in the event, in which among category 1, Bani Bajaj from La Blossom School bagged the first position. Armaan from Innocent Hearts School got second and Taruna from Lala Jagat Narain DAV school bagged third position. Pawani Bari from Kamla Nehru Public School got consolation prize. In category 2, Vanshika Rattu from Shri Hanumat International Public School bagged first, Mandeep Kaur from DIPS Tanda got second and Simar Rayat from Doaba Public Sr. Sec. School bagged third position and Simranjit Kaur from Cambridge International School Nakodar bagged consolation prize. The overall trophy was won by DIPS, Tanda.
Tiranga Yatra
Emm Aar International School, Adampur, is celebrating the 78th Independence Day with a 'Tiranga Yatra' on Wednesday. The procession will begin at canal (Ram Nagar Point) and proceed through MES Road, Railway Road, Main Road, ending at the Police Station, Adampur. The event will feature enthusiastic participation from students, with parents invited to join and witness this patriotic celebration.
DISTRICT SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP
Amarveer Singh, a roller skater of class VIII of Swami Sant Dass Public School, demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship by winning top spot medals on the skating track. Amarveer Singh got gold medals in two major competitions-inline 1000 meters and 500+D inline competition. He participated in 24th District Roller Skating Championship held at Police DAV Public school, Jalandhar from July 30-31, organised by District Roller Skating Association.
National Librarian’s Day
The Library Club of Montgomery Guru Nanak College of Education celebrated ‘National Librarian’s Day’ in the college premises. College librarian Satinderbir Kaur made the college students aware about the history behind this day and its importance for the field of education and society by large. A poster making competition was organised in the college library on the theme 'Importance of Library'. In this competition, Sehajpal stood first and Deepinder Kaur bagged second position. The purpose of organising this event was to connect students with college library.
Investiture Ceremony held
The Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2024-25 was held at Sant Baba Bhag Singh International School , Khiala. The ceremony was administered by Baba Janak Singh, School Principal Ranjit Singh, Vice Principal Baljit Singh and head coordinator Sarabjit Kaur. It was commenced with Shabad. The representatives of newly-elected students council started march past and announced the names of newly-elected Head Girl and Head boy of session 2024-25. The student council took the pledge to hold the school motto. The Principal congratulated the students and addressed them to be impartial and honest in leadership, unity, discipline and morality. The function concluded with the speech of newly elected Head girl Sucheta.
Extension Lecture organised
The NSS units of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala, organised an extension lecture on Union Budget 2024-25. Resource person Richa Arora, a chartered accountant, apprised the students about the highlights of the Budget 2024- 25 such as tax slabs, Kissan credit scheme and schemes for youth development. She encouraged students to get acquainted with all proposals presented in the Union Budget. Dr. Amanjyoti, Programme Officer of NSS Unit, presented her gratitude to the resource person for her enlightening session.
Traffic awareness event
To spread traffic awareness at Innocent Hearts, Traffic Education Cell organised an awareness seminar for school bus drivers under Safe School Vehicle Scheme. This seminar was organised as per the directions of Swapan Sharma, Commissioner of Police. Under the leadership of Amandeep Kaur ADCP Traffic, Aatish Bhatia, ACP Traffic, SI Ranjit Singh and ASI Shamsher Singh made all the drivers and conductors aware of the Safe School Vehicle Scheme.
2-day workshop on Puppet Making
Khalsa College of Education, Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar, organised a two-day-workshop on “Puppet Making”. Principal Mandeep Kaur extended a warm welcome to the eminent calligraphist Sanjay Kumar. Sanjay acquainted the students with the basics of puppetry, its history and significance in education to the faculty and students. On the second day of the workshop, the students learned advanced techniques of puppetry, including puppet manipulation, voice modulation, and storytelling.
Kashish, Ritish excel in B.Voc
Students of DAV College, Amritsar, are persistently getting top positions in the university merit list. In a recent development, Kashish of BVoc Financial Market management, sixth semester has bagged first position by securing 1,453 marks out of 2,100 and Ritish Bhatia has got second position in merit by securing 1,278 marks.
