Kanya Maha Vidyalaya celebrated Achievers’ Day to honour the students who had bagged top positions in the final examinations held during the 2023-24 session. All students, who had got merit positions by dint of their hardwork, single-minded resoluteness and commitment, were jubilant on receiving trophies from Principal Atima Sharma Dwivedi. The Principal averred that KMV is the nurturing ground of scholars as more than 100 students secured top positions in the examinations. She added that the meritorious students must continue to strive towards excellence in the future also. The Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dean of Student Welfare, for organising the event.
South Asian Games winner
Jalandhar: Nancy, a student of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, has brought laurels by winning a gold and silver medal in athletics at the South Asian Federation Games-2024 being organised in Pakistan. Principal Ajay Sareen congratulated Nancy and her family. The Principal said she had previously won medals in Senior Nationals and Senior Inter State Championship. She has also won a gold medal in Junior Saaf Championship 2024. DAVCMC president Dr Punam Suri, DHE Shiv Raman Gaur and Chairman Local Advisory Committee Justice (Retd) NK Sud also congratulated her. The Principal also congratulated the coach Sandeep Singh, faculty members Dr Navneet, Ramandeep and Pragati and the whole HMV family.
Science conference organised
Jalandhar: The postgraduate Department of Zoology, DAV College, Jalandhar, organised a two-day DBT-sponsored 'International science conference: Integrating disciplines and innovations'. The event brought together over 120 scientists, educators and students from across the globe to discuss groundbreaking ideas in science and technology. Principal Rajesh Kumar and Prof Punit Puri, Head of Zoology Department , Organising Secretaries — Dr Rishi Kumar and Prof Pankaj Bagga — and other members of the department welcomed the dignitaries. Prof Pooja Sharma introduced the conference and its key themes. The conference kicked off with an inaugural session, featuring a keynote address by Prof Kashmir Singh, Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Panjab University, on 'The crucial role of intellectual property rights (IPRs) in empowering Viksit Bharat@2047'.
University results declared
Jalandhar: As examination results were declared by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, the Department of Cosmetology at PCM SD College for Women has once again highlighted its academic prowess with extraordinary performance of students from BVoc (Cosmetology) Semester IV. Simranjit, a student of the department, secured first position in the university with an impressive score of 92 per cent. Ashu secured the second position with a score of 88 per cent and Ankita made the institution proud by bagging the third position in the college with a score of 84 per cent. President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee, along with Principal Pooja Prashar, appreciated the students and their efforts.
