Campus notes: Award for KMV School coordinator
Jalandhar: Sanskriti KMV School’s senior coordinator (PGT Biology) Sawinder Kaur has been honoured with the Des Raj Vedhara Memorial Best Teacher Award 2024 for her diligence and zeal towards teaching. The award was presented during the fifth annual Des Raj Vedhara Memorial Best Teachers’ Award ceremony, organised by DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur. Sawinder Kaur, who has been serving at Sanskriti KMV School for the past 19 years, has been recognised for her innovative teaching methods and her unwavering commitment to student development. Throughout her tenure, Sawinder Kaur has been engaging students, fostering a positive learning environment, and preparing them for regional, national and international level competitions. Her approach to education, which emphasises creative teaching techniques and emotional support, has made her a beloved figure among her students and colleagues alike. Principal Rachna Monga also appreciated her unwavering commitment and innovative teaching methods.
‘Prakash Utsav’ celebrated
Jalandhar: Students of Emm Aar International School, Adampur, celebrated the first ‘Prakash Utsav’ of Guru Granth Sahib with honour and reverence. The celebrations commenced with a morning prayer led by Head Boy Baldeep Sahil and Head Girl Anchal, where students expressed their deep admiration for the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib. The event featured soulful poems and Shabad that reflected the spiritual significance of the occasion. A soulful group Shabad was performed by Karanvir, Karman Singh, Eklavya, Armeet Kaur, Angel, Jasleen Kaur, Paramveer Singh and Baljot Singh. The celebrations culminated in a group song performed by the students, accompanied by music teacher Raman Kumar. Dr Ashish Tandon, from the school management, urged the students to follow the path and principles laid out by the Gurus.
Asian Martial Arts Sports Tourney
Jalandhar: Jashandeep Kaur, a student of Class VIII of State Public School, Jalandhar Cantt, stood first in kick-boxing in the Asian Martial Arts Sports Tournament organised by ‘Martial Arts Passion Tiger Welfare Association’ which was held at Lovely Professional University. She made her parents and school proud by earning laurels in the tournament. School president Dr Narottam Singh, vice-president Dr Gagandeep Kaur and school principal Savina Bahl congratulated winner Jashandeep Kaur and exhorted her to accomplish glory in every field of her life.
