St Soldier Law College organised a blood donation camp on Martyrs' Day under the supervision of college director Dr SC Sharma and all staff members, NCC, NSS and Red Ribbon Club. All staff members and students donated blood. The camp was organised in collaboration with the Blood Bank, Vivil Hospital, Jalandhar. Group chairman Anil Chopra and vice chairperson Sangeeta Chopra were present as the chief guests on the occasion. They paid floral tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh. College MD Prof Manhar Arora and college principal welcomed the chief guests. All cadets of the NCC and NSS participated in the camp.
Martyrdom Day observed
Jalandhar: Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions, Loharan, paid a heartfelt tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their Martyrdom Day under the theme "Remembering the brave: Honouring the legacy of freedom fighters". The cultural committee organised a series of activities to honour their sacrifices and instil patriotism among students. The ceremony began with soulful poetry recitations by Komal (BBA 6), Avneet (BCA 4) and Neela (MLS 4), whose words beautifully captured the spirit of Bhagat Singh's dedication to the nation. Following this, Kiran (BCA 4) and Shivani (BSc Micro 2) delivered impactful speeches, shedding light on the bravery and sacrifices of Bhagat Singh and his fellow revolutionaries. The highlight of the event was a choreography performance dedicated to Bhagat Singh, performed by students Dev, Lovepreet Singh, Jaskaran, Simran, Tania, Geetika, Pavani and Liza. Their mesmerising act symbolised Bhagat Singh's unwavering commitment to India's freedom struggle and left a lasting impact on the audience. At Innocent Hearts College of Education, a drama on personality traits of freedom fighters was enacted by the NSS volunteers to showcase various incidents of chivalry related to the Indian freedom struggle.
Army school bags first prize in flower show
Jalandhar: The Army Public School was awarded the first prize in the educational institution category at the Annual Flower Show and Garden Competition 2025, organised by the Cantonment Board. The award was presented by Brigadier SK Saul, SM, in recognition of the school’s exceptional efforts in maintaining a vibrant and eco-friendly campus. The Army Public School also bagged prizes at the flower show organised by Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala, a few days ago, further showcasing its commitment to environmental excellence.
GNA University signs MoU
Phagwara: GNA University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Amritsar. The MoU aims to foster collaboration in the fields of training, skill development, research and academic exchange in engineering and technology domains.
