Kapurthala: A five-day faculty development programme started on virtual mode at IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) on Monday. The topic was “Experimental Learning on Mobile Forensics”. The event is sponsored under the Information Security Education and Awareness Programme of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. It is being organised jointly by the IKGPTU’s Department of Computer Science Engineering and Centre for Executive Education.
Punjab Chess Championship
Utkrisht Tuli, a Class IX student of Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town, has brought pride to his school by emerging as a champion in the Punjab State Rapid Chess Championship organised by the District Ropar Chess Association. His exceptional performance has earned him a spot in the National Rapid Chess Championship, scheduled to be held in Ranchi, Jharkhand, in March. Utkrisht also secured third position in the Punjab Blitz Chess Championship.
State tennis tournament
Students of Mayor World School exhibited their talent and competitiveness during the 68th PSEB State Tennis Tournament held at Harvest Tennis Academy, Ludhiana. In the Under-14 boys category, Naman Sachdev secured the second position. Agamya Popli and Ganeev Kaur displayed performances, both clinching the first position in the Under-14 girls category, showcasing their exceptional talent and determination. Shreeya Bhaskar earned a well-deserved third position in the Under-19 girls category. The tournament highlighted the outcome of training provided by seasoned coach Gaurav Kumar.
CBSE happy classroom workshop
A workshop on “Happy Classroom” organised by the CBSE as part of its capacity building programme was held at Army Public School, Jalandhar Cantt. The session, attended by 57 educators, aimed to promote innovative strategies for creating emotionally supportive and engaging learning environments. Mansi Tyagi, Principal of MR International School, and Anju Mehta, Principal of Swami Sant Dass Public School, headed the workshop. They highlighted the importance of teaching with empathy and shared techniques for managing stress, including practical frameworks, and discussing interactive activities such as storytelling and role play to enhance student engagement. Mandeep Talwar, Vice Principal of APS Jalandhar, extended appreciation to CBSE and the speakers for their valuable insights.
