Ivy World School

Jalandhar: Ivy World School celebrated Independence Day with patriotism. Students were dressed in green, white and saffron, representing the Tricolour. A student choir sang patriotic songs, setting the tone of reverence and pride. One of the highlights of the day was a dance performance by a group of students. The performance concluded with a powerful rendition of Vande Mataram. Five students took the stage to enact and speak a few lines on the iconic freedom fighters of our nation, including Bhagat Singh and Mahatma Gandhi. Director Aditi Vasal shed light on the significance of Independence Day and appreciated the students for their participation.

Shiv Jyoti Public School

Activities were organised under 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day' at Shiv Jyoti Public School under the series of pre-celebrations for Independence Day under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsva. Various activities were organised for students of classes I to XII to apprise them of the tragedy and agony of the partition and also to remind them of their glorious heritage under the guidance of Principal Parveen Saili. The day was celebrated with patriotic songs and a Power Point presentation based on remembrance. Portrait display was held and slogans were put up in classrooms.

CJS Public School

Under the guidance of Principal Ravi Suta, the 78th Independence Day was celebrated at CJS Public School. A special morning assembly was organised by the students of Class V. Students of the Jack and Jill wing prepared tricoloured badges, hand bands and flags with the help of stripes. Chairperson Neena Mittal appreciated the efforts of the students. She also motivated students to contribute wholeheartedly to the development of the nation and wished everyone a Happy Independence Day.

Guru Amar Dass Public School

Guru Amar Dass Public School, Model Town, celebrated the 78th Independence Day under the guidance of Mohinderjit Singh, president, school managing committee. The display boards in the school were decorated in tri-colours giving out a sense of patriotism. A special assembly was held to mark the occasion. The programme started with the school shabad. Students presented poems and patriotic songs based on the freedom struggle. They also presented a cultural dance 'Bhangra'. Students from Nursey to Senior KG dressed up as great freedom fighters and presented the struggle faced by them. Principal Aparana Mehta congratulated all the staff and students.

Emm Aar International School

The spirit of patriotism was brought to life at Emm Aar International School, Adampur, as the school commemorated the 78th Independence Day. Students delivered heartfelt speeches in English and Hindi, underlining the significance of the day. The melodious notes of patriotic tunes filled the air as the students presented a soul-stirring group song, orchestrated by music teacher Raman Kumar. The event further took an artistic turn as students recited poignant patriotic poems, amplifying the patriotic fervour. The tiny tots from the Nursery Wing charmed everyone with their adorable performances in patriotic attire, adding a touch of innocence to the celebrations. The event reached its climax as students, holding national flags, took out a spirited march from Canal (Ram Nagar Point) to Police Station, Adampur, chanting Jai Hind with gusto.

State Public School

In continuation of the Independence Day celebrations, State Public School, Shahkot, held a fancy-dress activity under the guidance of president Narotam Singh and vice-president Gagandeep Kaur. Students from Nursery to Class II participated in the activity. The theme of the activity was ‘Freedom Fighters and Great Indian Leaders’. It was a great opportunity to teach the children about the history and Independence struggle of India. The little ones spoke confidently about the characters they were depicting. Principal Kanwar Neel Kamal said the activities provided an opportunity to arouse the sentiments of patriotism among the students.

SANT BABA BHAG SINGH INT’L SCHOOL

Sant Baba Bhag Singh International School celebrated the 78th Independence Day under the guidance of Principal S Ranjeet Singh. The ceremony was started with flag hoisting by Baba Manmohan Singh (chairman) and was followed by the National Anthem. A patriotic song was sung by the students who also performed giddha and bhangra. Principal Ranjeet Singh addressed the audience and shed light on the struggle of freedom fighters and motivated the students.
