Jalandhar: A ‘havan’ was organised at Innocent Hearts School – Green Model Town, Loharan and Nurpur, to seek blessings for the students appearing for board examinations. Senior members of the administration, staff and students took part in the ‘yagya’ ceremony. The chanting of mantras filled the atmosphere with religious fervour, following which prasad was distributed among all. After the ‘havan’, admit cards were given to the students.
Lvy World School
Ivy World School bid farewell to the outgoing batch of Class XII students with tears, merry and laughter. The blessings of god were evoked through special prayers. The school band put up a beautiful display. Chairman Sanjeev Vasal gave advice to the students and extended best wishes on behalf of the Vasal Educational Society.
Swami Sant Dass Public School
Students of Swami Sant Dass Public School participated in the International World Read Aloud Day through a live-streaming event from Shubert Theatre in Boston. The event featured live interaction with famous writers, providing an enriching experience to the participants. Indian students were appreciated for their participation. The students of Class IX played vocabulary games during the session. Principal Sonia Mago, a believer of inter-cultural and inter-lingual exchange, said she would strive to provide more such experiences to the students.
Emm Aar International School
Emm Aar International School bid farewell to the outgoing batch of Class XII students. The event was held in the school ground. It began with a tribute being paid to the management followed by a welcome address from the students of Class XI. School chairman and director wished the students of Class XII best of luck. The stage was managed by Anchal and Hitika under the guidance of coordinator Rupinder Kaur and Seema. Student council led by head boy Gurcharan Singh Bir, head girl Tanvir Kaur, vice-head boy Raghuansh Tandon, and vice-head girl Parnika Arora were awarded certificates of merit. Divyanshi Deep and Arshvir Singh were crowned ‘best girl of Emm Aar’ and ‘best boy of Emm Aar’, respectively.
Apeejay Institute of Mgmt
Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering, Technical Campus, in collaboration with Startup Punjab, Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Punjab, hosted a lecture on ‘funding and intellectual property’. The resource person for the session was Ahsanul Haq, President, Jalandhar Management Association. Haq delivered a presentation on navigating the complexities of funding ventures and safeguarding intellectual property rights. With his extensive experience and deep understanding of the startup landscape, Haq provided the attendees with practical advice and actionable strategies to navigate the challenges of building successful businesses.
Eklavya School
Eklavya School organised a poem recitation competition. Students came up with different poems about ‘patriotism’ and recited them with fondness for the country. The aim of the activity was to enhance confidence and public speaking skills of the students. Chairman J K Gupta encouraged the students to participate in more such activities to enhance confidence. Director Seema Handa said the purpose of conducting such competitions was to build self-confidence, develop oratory skills and self-expression among the students.
Apeejay College of Fine Arts
Apeejay College of Fine Arts won the second position in an inter-college kabaddi match organised by Guru Nanak Dev University. The students made the college proud with their performance. In the A-division match, Suraj Pratap (BCA IV), Ashish Narang (BVoc II), Pushkar (BDM II), Manpreet Gill (BA II), Namit Jain (BBA II), Sachin Julka (BCA II), Shubhveer (BFA IV), Harsh Arora (BPT II), Bhavtosh Kundra (BVoc II), Hrithik Sharma (BJMC IV), Taranpreet Singh (BDMII) and Varinderjeet Singh (BA II) were part of the team. Principal Neerja Dhingra congratulated the students for the achievement.
DAV College
The staff and students of DAV College paid homage to the legendary Jagjit Singh on his birth anniversary. Principal Rajesh Kumar said the DAV fraternity was proud of him and his unparalleled contribution to the field of music. The principal emphasised that students could learn invaluable lessons of dedication and hard work from iconic singers like Jagjit Singh. EMA dean Rajan Sharma elaborated on the techniques and nuances used by the ghazal maestro.
Khalsa College
Amritsar: The postgraduate department of commerce and business administration, Khalsa College, in collaboration with Bajaj Finserv, organised an orientation program for students of the commerce streams on ‘decoding the career success path’. Kanwaljit Singh, lead trainer, certificate programme in banking, finance and insurance (CPBFI), Bajaj Finserv, was the resource person. He informed the students about the diverse job opportunities available in the fields of investment, banking and accounts management. He advised the students to develop traits such as positive attitude, good communication and workplace ethics. Principal Mehal Singh said the objective of the programme was to acquaint the students with the myriad career opportunities available. More than a 100 students from the commerce department participated in the event and gained knowledge about the skills required to improve their career prospects.
