Campus Notes: Karate championships
Jalandhar: Ananya Mishra, a student of St Soldier Group of Institutions, brought laurels to the school by achieving success in karate championships at both national and international level. Her impressive medal tally includes gold at the International Level Karate Championship organised by Seishinkai Shito Ryu Karate Do Federation and Karate-Do Association of Benga. She won a silver medal in All India Karate Membership, Panchkula. She also won bronze medal in Amateur-Do Foundation, Punjab, and gold medal in Amateur Karate Championship, Panchkula.
Six students get placement
Six students of MBA and BTech CSE final year from Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus have been placed with MNC Pie Infotech Pvt Ltd. Jasmine, Parneet Kaur and Tarun Kumar of MBA final year and Amarpreet, Navneet Kaur Virdi and Jaskiranpreet Saini of BTech (CSE) were placed at a salary package of Rs 8.5 lakh per. The selection process consisted of aptitude test, group discussion and personal interview. Sukhbir Singh Chatha, Director, Academic Affairs, KCL Group, and RS Deol, Director, LKCTC, wished them success for their professional endeavours.
Portrait-Making competition
Rishita, a student of Class XI of Anand Public Senior Secondary School, has made the institution proud by winning the gold medal at Sahodaya inter-school portrait making competition. Chairperson Varinder Kumari Anand, Director Ruchi Anand and Principal Arvinder Singh Sekhon congratulated Rishita. The competition was held at Sri Guru Harkishan Public School and students from 13 schools participated. Rishita made a portrait of renowned scientist Dr Abdul Kalam.
National Sports Day
National Sports Day was celebrated at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Jalandhar Cantt, to commemorate the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. Students displayed their sports prowess in different sports activities organised under the supervision of Neelam Sehgal, TGT Physical Education. Principal Ravinder Kumar felicitated the winners with medals and trophies. Vice Principal Ugra Mohan Yadav enlightened the gathering about the importance of physical fitness, hoping that students will excel in the sports arena at all levels.
Seminar on Resume Writing
The Placement and Industry Interface Cell at Doaba College, Jalandhar, organised a seminar on ‘Goal Setting and Resume Writing’ for final year graduation students. Ruhani Kohli, Centre Head at Bulls Eye, guided students on setting career objectives and choosing the right path. The session featured one-on-one interactions and insights into upcoming government job exams, interview skills, and professional behaviour.
