Campus Notes: Photography competition held

Jalandhar: World Photography day was celebrated at Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, GNDU, Regional Campus, at Ladhewali here today. On this occasion, photography and caption writing competitions were organised in which students from various colleges and departments participated. In caption writing, Sehaj and Kanwar both from the Departments of Laws stood first and second, respectively. In the photography competition, Deepa Pardhan from HMV Jalandhar bagged the first position while Avneet Kaur from CT Group of Colleges got second position.

World Photography Day

The PG Mass Communication and Video Production Department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya celebrated World Photography Day in collaboration with DD Pant Botanical Society of PG Department of Botany. The participants were asked to click pictures on any topic. The students of humanities, journalism, botany, commerce, medical and non-medical streams participated in the contest. The judgement was done by Ashish Chadha, Head, PG Department of Multimedia. The first prize was won by Seema, second prize was won by Anjani, third prize was won by Priyanka Kashyap. Principal Dr Ajay Sareen congratulated the winners and both the departments.

Expert Talk on pulmonary care

The Department of Physiotherapy at CT Institute of Higher Studies hosted an expert talk on the multidisciplinary approach to pulmonary care, delivered by Dr Inderpreet Singh, MD Chest, from Reheat Medicity. The session focused on the complexities of ICU patient care during chest drainage. Dr Singh emphasised the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in pulmonary care, providing detailed insights into the latest tools and technologies. His hands-on demonstrations were well-received by students and faculty alike, enriching their practical knowledge in this critical field of healthcare. Principal Dr Seema, HOD, Physiotherapy Dr Arun, faculty members and students attended the event.

University merit list

Final year students of Bachelor of Food Science and Technology (Hons) from DAV College Jhalak and Mehak have become overall joint toppers by securing an impressive 2592 marks out of 3200 in university exam. In the 8th semester, Jhalak stood first by securing 349 marks out of 400 and Mehak stood second by securing 343 marks out of 400. Principal Rajesh Kumar congratulated both the students and faculty for this achievement and wished for the bright future of students.
