Jalandhar: In a splendid display of cultural heritage, the young prodigies of Sanskriti KMV School celebrated Janmashtami with an enchanting array of performances and activities. The event was a mesmerising blend of tradition and creativity, where the tiny tots brought to life the essence of Lord Krishna’s joyous spirit. The celebration began with a captivating dance performance, where the little ones portrayed the divine dance performances with such grace and poise that it seemed as though the tales of Vrindavan had come alive on stage. Principal Rachna Monga, in her address, expressed how the timeless wisdom of Lord Krishna remained a beacon of guidance for all.

Apeejay College of Fine Arts

Jalandhar: Rajeshwari Kala Sangam, in collaboration with Apeejay College of Fine Arts, organised Krishnam, a ballet dedicated to Lord Krishna on the eve of Janmashtami. Himanshu Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Dr Sucharita Sharma, director, Apeejay Education, welcomed all guests. In the ballet, ‘Kaliya Mridan’ by Krishna, the sacredness of Radha-Krishna's love, the episode of Krishna playing raasleela and holi with gopis and supernatural presentation of Meerabai's unique devotion towards Krishna were shown. Principal Neerja Dhingra expressed her gratitude to everyone for making the event a success.

Police DAV Public School

Jalandhar: Janmashtami was celebrated at Police DAV Public School. On this occasion, the Krishna-Uddhav episode and the Krishna-Meera episode were shown through a musical drama. Principal Rashmi Vij appreciated the presentation by Tejasvi House. In the pre-primary wing, children came dressed as Radha and Krishna and mesmerised everyone with their dance performance. The students of the primary wing presented various leelas of Lord Krishna's through a drama.

Ivy World School

Jalandhar: Ivy World School, under the aegis of Vasal Education, held Janmashtami celebrations. Students dressed up as Krishna’s childhood friends. Young Ivyians were dressed in traditional attire to establish the mood for Janmashtami. As Lord Krishna has always been a charmer since childhood and is renowned for winning everyone over, the Ivyians gave exquisite performances to the dance tunes, recited songs and recounted succinct biographies of Krishna's life. Ivyians enjoyed an amazing cosmic journey. The celebration extended with a special assembly, which featured two skits — one set in Gokul Dham, showcasing a heart-warming interaction between Yashoda and Krishna, and another depicting the enduring friendship between Krishna and Sudama.

Emm Aar International School

Jalandhar: Emm Aar International School, Adampur, hosted a vibrant and engaging celebration of Janmashtami during the morning assembly. The highlight of the celebration was a series of thought-provoking presentations by the students. Archana and Manisha from Class X delivered a comprehensive overview of Lord Krishna's life and his significant contributions. Their narration of the various Krishna Leela’s captivated the audience. Harleen and Navya of Class IV enthralled the attendees with their melodious bhajan performances. Adriti Mishra of UKG gracefully recited the Gita Saar, adding a spiritual dimension to the festivities. Aradhya of Class VI showcased her talent through a beautiful dance performance. Ashish Tandon from the school’s management highlighted the spiritual significance of the day.

Anand Public Sr Sec School

Jalandhar: Janmashtami was celebrated by the staff and students of classes II, III and IV at Anand Public Senior Secondary School. Janmashtami is celebrated as a symbol of the end of darkness and evil forces. Chairperson Varinder Kumari Anand, director Ruchi Anand, MD Vikram Anand and principal AS Sekhon graced the event with their presence. The event was organised under the supervision of activity in-charges Neha and Karuna. The students were dressed up in the costumes of Lord Krishna and Radha with flutes, peacock feathers and pots. The premises were beautifully decorated and the fragrance of flowers, pleasant aroma of camphor and the tinkling of bells filled the air.

Apeejay School

Jalandhar: The festival of Janmashtami was celebrated with a great zeal and enthusiasm at Apeejay School Model Town. Melodious bhajans were sung to invoke the blessings of Lord Krishna. Young students clad in traditional attire appeared to be manifestations of Lord Krishna and Radha. A beautiful dance performance was presented by the students of classes III, IV and V, depicting the birth and life of Lord Krishna. Officiating principal Priyanka Grover felicitated the teachers for their organised efforts towards putting up a spectacular event and exhorted the students to follow the path of righteousness as shown by Lord Krishna.

Cambridge International School

Jalandhar: Cambridge International School organised a solo folk dance competition for students of Class I and 11 respectively, aiming to introduce the rich folk dance culture of India among the young generation. The theme of the competition was ‘Incredible India’. About 125 students participated with zeal. Folk dances from different regions like Garba from Gujarat, Ghoomar from Rajasthan, Punjabi folk dances and many more were showcased. In Class I, Aaradhya Arora and Taanish bagged first position, Gurnawab, Nayra and Khwaish secured second position, Amaira, Rudra and Vaibhav bagged third position and Sirjan, Helena, Hargun, Hanika, Hinaya, Trishika and Yashvardhan got consolation prizes.
