Shri Ram Ashram Public School, Amritsar, commemorated the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary Mohammed Rafi, the “Emperor of Melody”, whose voice has left an indelible mark on the world of Indian music with more than 26,000 songs in various languages. Born in the culturally rich city of Amritsar, Punjab, Mohammed Rafi’s remarkable journey from humble beginnings to global stardom is a testament to his dedication, perseverance and humility. The school’s tribute to this musical icon featured a mesmerising performance by S. Harinder Sohal, who brought to life some of Rafi Sahab’s most celebrated songs, transporting the audience to a realm of musical ecstasy and nostalgia. Addressing the gathering, school president Balbir Bajaj eloquently described Mohammed Rafi’s voice as a celestial blend of profound depth and heartfelt emotion. School principal Dr Vinodita Sankhyan inspired the students by highlighting the extraordinary journey of Mohammed Rafi, who, despite his humble beginnings in Amritsar, rose to become a global icon. The programme culminated in a solemn moment of silence as all present paid their respects to the legendary singer.
Christmas carnival at Cedar Spring
Amritsar: Cedar Spring High School organised its grand Christmas carnival, “The Sparkling Magical Fest 2024.” The event commenced with the inaugural ceremony graced by the chief guest, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh,MLA, Amritsar, North. The chief guest was welcomed by school Director Gurpreet Boparai, Principal Nitin Verma, teachers and others with a bouquet presentation. The main attractions of the carnival were its vibrant rides, games and fun-filled activities. Both children and parents participated wholeheartedly in these activities. Joy & cheer at Christmas
Jalandhar: The magic of the festive season was brought to life with vibrant celebrations at a local school, where the foyer was transformed into a winter wonderland. Mobile snowflakes, snowmen, twinkling lights, and a beloved Santa Claus created a cheerful atmosphere. Primary students kicked off the festivities with a special assembly, their laughter filling the air as they celebrated in green, red, and white attire. The youngest students from the Mayor Galaxy wing enjoyed carol singing and games, while students in classes I and II exchanged gifts and danced joyfully. In classes III to V, children expressed their creativity by writing letters to Santa. Senior students marked the season with captivating role-plays, contributing to the festive spirit that filled the school.
