Campus notes: Warm send-off 2 IKGPTU officials
Jalandhar: A farwell was accorded to two officials of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU). Vice-Chancellor Susheel Mittal, the chief guest, wished the officials, Executive Engineer Harvinder Pal Singh and Deputy Registrar (Senior Scale) Rajinder Dogra, luck for the next stage of their life. Registrar SK Misra, the special guest, remembered the work done by both officers in their respective departments and wished them a better future. During the open house held this time, the university's controller of examinations Paramjit Singh and finance officials Sukhbir Singh Walia highlighted their experiences shared with both officials. Deputy Registrar (HRM) Nitya Sharma gave the welcome address. The event was organised by the Human Resources Department of the university. The stage was conducted by Deputy Registrar (Public Relations) Rajneesh Sharma.
Training-cum-study camp at BBK DAV
Amritsar: National inter-state junior Red Cross training-cum-study camp, held under National Youth Exchange Programme, concluded at BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar. The event commenced with a floral tribute to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, honouring his legacy of excellence in service to the nation. College principal Pushpinder Walia, in her address, said the camp had been dedicated to the supreme sacrifice of the four Sahibzaade of Guru Gobind Singh. The winners of various competitions were awarded for their outstanding performance during the event. Organisers of Guru Ramdas Old Age Home were honoured for their commendable efforts towards support and care of the elderly. Principal Walia was also honoured by the Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab state branch, Chandigarh, for her service to humanity. During the camp, Gurpreet Singh Namdhari conducted a live painting demonstration depicting the martyrdom of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh while being bricked alive.
10 GNDU selected for jobs
Amritsar: Directorate of placement and career enhancement of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) has announced that 10 students of MBA-Batch 2025 of the university have been placed at HDFC Life Insurance Company. The students have been offered jobs at a salary of Rs. 4.75 lakh per annum. Director Amit Chopra said the students would join their jobs after passing their respective courses in June 2025. He said the company was a leading life insurance company in India, which provided insurance through individual and group insurance. It caters to the various needs of customers such as security, etc.
