The Department of Physics, DAV College, organised a workshop on ‘Electroplating Techniques’. In the inauguration of the session, Dr K Rajeev, vice-principal, and head of department, introduced the resource person to the students. The resource person was Dr Reshu Sanan, assistant professor from the department of chemistry, IK Gujral Punjab Technical University. Dr Sanan commenced her talk by delving into the history of electroplating, explaining its origins and the fundamental motive behind its development. She highlighted how this technique has become an integral part of various industries, including jewellery, automotive, electronics and manufacturing.

Industrial Visit to RAIL COACH FACTORY

Kapurthala: The PG Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Hindu Kanya College, embarked on an industrial visit to the rail coach factory. Led by Neha Chopra, assistant professor, and Sheela, librarian, students from the department participated in this enriching experience. The visit provided students with hands-on knowledge of cutting-edge technologies. Principal Dr Archna Garg lauded the department’s initiative, emphasising the significance of such industrial visits in imparting practical knowledge and bridging the gap between academia and industry.

Punjabi Maa Bhasha Mela

Jalandhar: Apeejay College of Fine Arts participated in ‘Punjabi Maa Bhasha Mela 2025’ organised by Punjabi Sahitya Academy, Ludhiana, and won the first runners-up trophy. Principal Dr Neerja Dhingra congratulated the participants. Purva Aneja bagged the first place in poetry recitation, Jaskirat Kaur won the first position in calligraphy, Ankush and Vishal won the first spot in Muhavredaar Bhasha and Prabhjot Kaur got third place in poster making.
