Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya celebrated World Ozone Day to sensitise students regarding global environmental issues. The PG Department of Life Sciences and NCC organised poster-making and slogan-writing competitions. More than 200 students participated in these events, showcasing the significance of the life-saving ozone layer and measures to prevent global warming. Principal Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of the students for their participation and efforts. Principal appreciated the efforts of Archana Saini, Head, PG Department of Zoology, and Sufalica.
Workshop on ‘Employability Skills’
Jalandhar: The Placement Cell of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, in collaboration with Ansh Infotech, Ludhiana, organised a workshop on ‘Employability Skills’ for final year students under the leadership of Principal Ajay Sareen. Anjana Bhatia exhorted the students and informed them about the placement procedure. Ansh Aneja, CEO of Ansh Infotech, Director Ashish Arora, cyber analyst Faisal and business manager Aman Biswal were also present. They interacted with students and provided important information about resume builders and resume checkers as well as ATS compliance of resume. He also discussed the topic of cyber security. He showed how easy it was to hack one’s devices, emphasising the severity of the problem. The team gave several demonstrations by involving students, making it easier to understand with fun activities.
Student brings laurels
Jalandhar: Jaahnvi Mehta pursuing BFA (Applied Art) Semester VIII from Apeejay College of Fine Arts participated in Graphic Design Technology at World Skills Competition held at Lyon, France, from September 10 to 15. She won Medal of Excellence and made her college proud. She was the first student from Punjab to participate in this international competition. Principal Neerja Dhingra congratulated the student and her parents.
Awareness Campaign on Drug Abuse
Jalandhar: Kamla Nehru Public School launched an awareness campaign against drug abuse. “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life,” campaign aimed to address the growing issue of drug abuse in schools, providing educators with the necessary tools and strategies to guide students toward healthier, drug-free futures. Chief guest Phagwara SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti inaugurated the campaign. She highlighted the urgency of tackling drug abuse among the youth and praised the school’s efforts to be at the forefront of this initiative. Guest of honour Pankaj Sardana reinforced the significance of this critical initiative and emphasised the importance of unified efforts in fostering drug-free educational environments. Paramjeet Kaur Dhillon, Principal Administration and Innovation, conducted an empowering session for 110 educators. Her session provided practical guidance on identifying and addressing drug-related challenges within the school system.
Drug awareness rally
Jalandhar: A drug awareness rally was organised by the NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club at St Soldier College. Slogans such as ‘Save Life, No Drugs’ were written to raise awareness among the youth. The rally was held under the leadership of college Director Veena Dada. She Director said that everyone should raise awareness about the menace among people. The principal and college staff was present at the rally. Group Chairman Anil Chopra appreciated the efforts and encouraged students to take part in such activities.
Hindi Divas celebrated
Jalandhar: Hindi Diwas was celebrated at Shiv Jyoti Public School and students and staff members partcipated in the event. Hindi faculty’s Manjeet Kaur and students Paavni Arora, Dharika and Japleen Kaur made everyone aware about the day through a video presentation. The students were prepared under the guidance of Suman Bala. Principal Parveen Saili emphasised to pledge to respect and five first preference to the language.
